MITERA Children’s Hospital: Educational Course on the Diagnosis & Treatment of Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip

The MITERA Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic is organizing a 3-day educational course on the diagnosis and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip using the Graf method.

It is the 9th course catering mainly for orthopedic specialists, radiologists and pediatricians and it will be held at HYGEIA Hospital (6th floor) on February 22-24, 2019. For further information, interested parties may call on +30 210 6833600. Given the limited number of participants, strict priority will apply. The main trainer is Professor Reinhard Graf (Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Graz, Austria), who developed the technique that bears his name.

Developmental dysplasia of the hip is a significant diagnostic and treatment problem. The Graf method is an ultrasound classification system for developmental dysplasia of the hip in infants. It is a very fast method that is extremely safe for the infant. The use of the method for early and faster diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hip has drastically decreased surgery for this specific condition.

As noted by the Course coordinators, Mr Georgios Matsinos, Director of the MITERA Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic, and Mr Dimitrios Petratos, Associate Director of the MITERA Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic, “The MITERA Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic has been using the Graf method since its establishment, leading to early diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hip, which is of pivotal importance for an excellent final therapeutic result. Recognizing the significance of the method and the need to disseminate our knowledge to our colleagues, we believe that this Course will contribute substantially towards early diagnosis and elimination of any complications.”
