Cardiology Ward

Hospitalization of patients in the Department of Adult Cardiology offers the highest standards and state-of-the-art care aimed at promptly diagnosing and treating any cardiovascular disorder, whether an emergency condition or not

Any patient may present to the Hospital’s Emergency Department for initial assessment, evaluation and treatment on a 24/7 basis. Based on the initial evaluation, the patients may be admitted to the coronary care unit or cardiology ward for further management. Our services include the option of telemetry, i.e. continuous ECG monitoring of patients during their hospitalization by fully trained and qualified nursing staff. Telemetry is significant when there is a necessity of correlating the underlying symptoms to a possible cardiac rhythm disorder. All the essential tests are scheduled and performed immediately, paying attention to safety and diagnostic accuracy. The optimal treatment approach is then determined, which may either be limited to pharmaceutical therapy or may be complemented with an additional interventional procedure at the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (e.g. coronary angiography, angioplasty, implantation of cardiac rhythm management device, such as pacemaker of defibrillator and  cardiac rhythm ablation).
